Nutrition Services & WIC
Medical Nutrition Therapy
Registered Dietitians provide individualized education and counseling to help patients create, achieve, and maintain realistic health goals. Consultations are focused on disease prevention or management. Dietitians counsel on many aspects of nutrition including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, weight management, general healthy eating, gastrointestinal disease, prenatal nutrition, and nutrient deficiencies. Dietitians are also available to provide nutrition information through local health fairs and presentations to community organizations. Ask your provider about same-day consultations with a Registered Dietitian!
WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Program
The WIC Program is a supplemental nutrition program for pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who meet income guidelines. WIC participants receive health screenings and risk assessments, nutrition education and counseling, breastfeeding education and support, referrals to health care and community resources, and an eWIC card to purchase nutritious foods for each family member enrolled.
Breastfeeding counselors provide education and support to help pregnant and postpartum women achieve their breastfeeding goals. Breastfeeding counselors are also available for home visits and presentations to community organizations.
WIC is exempt from new Public Charge Rule.
