Health care center is moving into one of St. Louis City’s most populated neighborhoods
ST. LOUIS, MO – One of St. Louis’ most populated neighborhoods is getting a new neighbor. Family Care Health Centers (FCHC) has announced plans to construct a 27,000-square-foot state-of-the-art healthcare facility. The new health center will provide comprehensive primary care, behavioral health, nutrition services, WIC, and pharmaceutical services at the corner of Grand and Chippewa, alongside Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis.
As FCHC celebrates 55 years of service, this new facility is a cornerstone of the organization’s mission to expand access to high-quality healthcare in St. Louis. Since 1969, FCHC has been driven to ensure that the health care needs of the most vulnerable populations are at the core of their mission. “When we think about the next 55 years, we understand the importance of broadening our reach to have an even greater impact on the health and wellbeing of the community”, says Aramide Ayorinde, CEO. “The new healthcare center will provide residents with additional access to essential medical and behavioral health services, health education and support programs. Choosing to build in Dutchtown made the most sense for us for several reasons. Not only does it align with our mission, but it allows us to meet the growing health care needs of the community. It also brings a sense of coming full circle to what was the Old St. Anthony’s Hospital.”

The Dutchtown community is in St. Louis’ Ward 3, which Alderman Shane Cohn represents. “This is a historic and exciting investment in the Dutchtown community. I’ve been working with Family Care Health Center for several years finding a location in Dutchtown,” said Cohn. “It’s amazing that the site which was the former home to St. Anthony’s Hospital decades ago will again offer these healthcare options and services to the people and families in our community. The synergy between Habitat for Humanity and FCHC will only bolster the health and prosperity of our neighbors.”
Groundbreaking will occur in November 2024 and the facility is slated to open its doors in June 2026.
